Overview

I worked on an internal R\&D project that aimed to develop a novel electric motor that aimed to have higher-efficiency, be lighter, and also lower cost. I specifically worked on the optimization of motor parameters and development of motor simulations.

Results

1. Programmed a digital twin of a novel electric motor using object-oriented programming in MATLAB and COMSOL Electrostatic FEA to automate analysis and optimization.
2. Implemented constrained multivariable optimization of 15+ parameters using genetic algorithms to design motors based on performance targets and manufacturing constraints.
3. Presented analyses to stakeholders including my manager, his research group, and the Director of R&D.
